OpenStrap Edge
WHOOP 4.0
open repo ↗ github.com
- ai
- none documented
- evidence
- public
- reviewed
WHOOP’s band works only with a paid subscription. OpenStrap reverse engineered its Bluetooth protocol and built an open app for Android and iOS: sleep, recovery, strain, heart rate and workouts, computed on the phone, with no data leaving it unless you opt in.
- ai
- No AI involvement documented in building it.
- caveats
- Sync the band's clock or it resets. Temperature readings need calibration. Not full feature parity with WHOOP, and a future WHOOP firmware update could block it.
- evidence
- Public repo + press coverage.
